AOY partnered with Uplifters Kitchen in 2014 to design and build a new artisanal cafe serving the Ocean Park district of Santa Monica. The space was completed in two phases in which two adjoining storefronts were completely re-built, renovated and combined into a servery, dining room and commercial kitchen. The ceiling was raised to expose the building structure and the treatment of space throughout incorporated the use of natural materials, wood, tile and concrete to create a soothing and welcoming space for its guests. A feature wall in the dining room was treated with a striking graphic by Fliepaper, a collection of wall covering created by celebrity photographer, Don Flood.
